A graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art with a first class degree in Fine Art, and several years community and professional theatre experience in production and performance at Dundee Repertory Theatre, Abigail has been working freelance in independent and broadcast film and television production for 7 years. These projects ranged from short films and promos to TV series and feature films including Ken Loach's Sweet Sixteen, Annie Griffin's The Book Group and multi award-winning shorts such as Peter Mackie Burns Milk, Angela Murray’s The Choir and many more.
As a producer, her short drama projects include: Wish (written and directed by Rene Mohandas and funded by Cineworks and the London Production Fund) which premiered at Edinburgh Film Festival and won the Scottish BAFTA award for Best Short Film in 2002; Manji, a BBC Tartan Short (also written and directed by Rene Mohandas) umbrelled by Gabriel Films; Swansong, a Digicult project for Film Council / Scottish Screen written by Joern Utkilen and directed by Nicholas Bone, and most recently, Score, also written and directed by Richard Smith for Filmaka.com
Abigail is a co-founding director of Diversity Films CIC, which runs a new filmmaker development and training programme in underrepresented communities in Glasgow, and has her own production company Alcoba Films.
Abigail also delivers production training and mentoring on the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama Digital Film and Television BA (Honours) course as an industry practitioner. |
